My friend Jake called and said- "Hey Stace, want to go to the Demo Derby?" And I said, "uh ya Jake, but it is sold out"--- and he said--- "uh ya Stace, I have an extra ticket." I know a window of opportunity when I see it.
So Saturday night rolled around and we were at...
THE HEBER DEMOLITION DERBY!
Okay seriously though, I think- if my parents had decided to raise me in Heber, Utah- I could've found myself a very handsome mullet man and gotten very used to cowboy boots. Just saying.
I guess if I HAVE to subject myself to missing the Garlic Festival for the first time in 21 years... (a travesty, I know...) at least I have places like Heber to welcome me with open arms. Really though, add about 1,000 more drunken sweaty people, (plus my family, duh) and I would've felt like I was at home.
Also- special thanks to the Pioneers. You have made it possible for us to enjoy these beautiful things all through the month of July.
I hope the Pioneers know that people are going all out for them. Neal and I were at Del Taco on Thursday-- the day BEFORE Pioneer day even-- and they were having quite the Pioneer Day Special. Buy 2 regular tacos, get 1 free. As Neal so eloquently put it... "I am glad the Pioneers walked so far so that we could get cheap tacos."
happy life. :)
